TERROIRS
“Let us be clear, the rest of the world has copied our champagne-making method,
but the real champagne is still the best”.
A. Ricciuti
Avenay Val d'Or
Between vineyards and woods, on localities like " Les Soranges, Les Côtes des Perches, La Haie Noé, Les Pantenay" , our grapes Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are representing elegance and richness of our Premiers Crus.
Chouilly
Only Chardonnay grapes are king on this Grand Cru of the famous "Côte des Blancs ". "La Haie Pénard" , "Les Echamées" and "Vigne Bouillet "are localities dedicated to them. This white grape varietiy guarantees us, subtlety and freshness of our champagne.
Mareuil sur Aÿ
A special exposure and one of the most sunny hillside of the champagne region, an extraordinary viewpoint where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are glowing for the pleasure of our " assemblages "of Premier Cru on the locality of " Les Dudies ".
Mutigny
On a more clayey soil, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are sharing the locality of " Les Terriers de Gd' Maison ",on a land plot where you can find one of the rare and latest wine grower's lodge.
Indeed, it is difficult to copy the specificities of the chalky soil and the climate of the Champagne region, which give champagne its typicity, recognised throughout the world. The terroir is a source of quality, and our House owns some of the most prestigious vineyards in the Champagne classification of Crus:
Avenay-Val-d'Or, Chouilly, Mareuil sur Aÿ, Mutigny.
Exposure to the sun, care and experience enable our three Champagne grape varieties, (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier) to ripen and to offer all their wine-making qualities to the production of this King of Wines.
